June reflection

We are reflecting on our June work. It took a while!
I enjoyed reading the classmate compliments because it made my day.

I found it easy to do the class complements because I had to do 3 of them!

I found it tricky to take the selfie because the light was in the way.

Pattern Ball - P.E

We are learning to communicate and work as a team.
How we worked out the pattern: Ocean-Jade started with the pink ball, the ball we had to chest pass. Mya started with the blue ball, the ball we had to bounce pass. I started with the green and white ball, the ball we had to rugby pass.
To communicate we had to call names and use eye contact.
We found it easy to figure out the pattern.
We found it tricky to catch the ball instead of get hurt.

Diplodocus lego

Yesterday I could not sleep. Before I went to bed I started making things out of lego my mum got for me. I made the body then I had to go to bed. So when dad left the bedroom, I turned on my lamp and got to work. There were LOTS of extra pieces!
I enjoyed going to sleep that night.
I found it easy to attach the eyes.
I found a tricky to do the white things for the feet because they didn't connect properly.
Next time I will change where the extra pieces go.

Treehouse

Today I got bored so I decided to play with blocks. I made an treehouse.
I enjoyed making the trunk.
I found it easy to make the swing.

Times Tables

We are learning our times tables. We are learning to each week. This week I am learning 8x8 and 8x7.
I enjoyed highlighting the one's I knew.
I found it easy to write down in my homework book that I need to learn my maths.
I found it tricky to find the ones that I did not know.
Next time I wanna change the colour of the highlighter to just be yellow.

Helps And Hinders

For Reading we are learning to combine sources of information with developing confidence to identify, form, and express ideas.
I found it easy to do the helps.
I found it tricky to find a background.
Next time I would change the emojis to be real ones of just smileys and frownies.

Ahmet's Story: Comic Strip

WALT use visual language features. We had to use speech bubbles, text boxes, maps and pictures. I challenged myself to use word art. I love comic strips because it makes it easier to read.
I enjoyed making a comic strip.
I found it easy to add images labeled for reuse.
I found it tricky to write in the text boxes.
Next time I would change the image of Ahmet because there were a lot more that looked better.

Corpus Christi and Transubstantiation

We are learning about Corpus Christi and Transubstantiation.
Corpus Christi is Latin in means the body and blood of Christ.
Transubstantiation means the conversion of the wine and bread turning into the body and blood of christ.
I enjoyed making a Google drawing.
I found it easy to figure out what Corpus Christi means.
I found it tricky to add a background.
Next time I would change the colour of the words because I cannot really read them.

Flexi Physics - Reading Tasks

We are learning about gravity. We used Dropper Poppers and Boinks to see if gravity will bring them down.

Gravity

We are learning about gravity. I took some videos of the gravity working with Boinks and Dropper Poppers.
I enjoyed playing with the boinks and dropper poppers.
I found it easy to write my writing.
I found it tricky to use line breaks.
Next time I will use more line breaks.

Gravity

If you throw a ball into the air what will it do? It will fall down right?  But why doesn't it not float into space?

Gravity
The reason for this is a force called gravity. Gravity is a force that keeps us on the ground. Gravity is like super glue and holds us down.

Force
A force is a push or a pull. Gravity is a force that pulls us down so we don't float into space.

Boinks
Boinks are a flexible spring-action toy. If you push down a boink, a force will be created. When you let go it will fly up then gravity will pull the boink down.

Dropper popper
A dropper popper is a toy that looks like a dome. If you invert drop the dome with a ping pong ball, the ping pong ball will spring into the air and then gravity will pull it down.

Conclusion
No matter where you throw the ball, it's going down! The effect is a person or a thing that acts in the way that some specific thing happened as a result. Gravity is the cause and effect of everything coming down. Eventually everything is coming down.

Trinity Sunday

This Sunday was Trinity Sunday. Trinity means three in one. The father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
I enjoyed drawing an apple.
I found it easy to write what each bit in the apple was.
I found it tricky to colour in the apple.
Next time I will change the writing to be yellow.

Bling Your Blog

Today I was learning how to change the background and change the header on my blog. I took some screenshots to show the before and after.
I enjoyed choosing a texture for my header.
I found it easy to make a font.
I found it tricky to take a photo of my art.
Next time I would change the art to be Koru art.

Praying Mantis Egg

Yesterday I found a pregnant praying mantis on a bush. I picked it up and put it near my bag at morning tea. My chromebook case was open and it must have crawled into it. When I saw it at lunch time I thought it was dead when I opened it to see an egg in it! I told my friend that it laid an egg and she told me to tell a teacher. It was definitely an egg! It did not seem to care about it's egg so
I enjoyed helping to make a home for it.
I found it easy to let it free.
I found it tricky to make the box like it's the habitat of a praying mantis.

Homophonmes

WALT recognise homophones. There means the position someone is in. The sentence it might be used in is 'She is over there'. Their means it is their thing. The sentence it might be used in is 'This is their dog'. They're means they are. The sentence it might be used in is 'They're funny'.

I enjoyed taking the picture of the sheet.

I found it easy to write in the spaces.

I found it tricky to write the correct there in the milk one.

Pentecost Flame/Dove

On Sunday it was the churches birthday. For a couple of days we have been learning about Pentecost because a miracle happens. Pentecost is 50 days after Easter. The flame represents wisdom. The dove represents peace I went to the teacher to tell her that I was done and she said show the principle! I was so excited that I ran. The principle was not there so I showed the deputy. She gave me a deputy principal award!

I enjoyed making the dove and flame.

I found it easy to write what pentecost was.

I found it tricky to take a photo.

Next time I will change the colour of the eye to a red or yellow.

Torch Challenge

We are learning to make a closed circuit. Electricity is a power made of energy from an electric circuit. Electricity in a torch comes from an closed circuit. My group had to have 6 wires, a light bulb, electrical tape, tin foil, cardboard and 2 C size batteries. I got a couple of electric shocks but the light still did not work.
My group found it easy to connect the wires.
My group found it tricky to make the light work.
Next time we would research how to make it work and use the internets instructions.

This is what NOT to do (also what we did).
What we did first was tape the wires to the batteries with electrical tape. Then we connected the 6 wires to each other by twisting them. After we taped the light to the wires but it still did not work. We did not know what the foil and cardboard was for so we left it aside.
