February Reflection

Yesterday we were reflecting on our work for february. For the rest of the year you will see loads of these! I enjoyed changing the background because it was nice and easy and fun to do. I found it tricky to fill out the reading because all of my reading tasks were awesome! Next time I would change it so my maths said I needed to work on square roots because I need a lot more help in that. Here is my reflection:

Whodunnit? The case of the missing computer.

This week we were learning to make connections between our reading. We had to solve a made up mystery about a missing computer! The suspects were Carrie Collins, Cecil Crawford, Chloe Carter and Conner Christifors. I figured it out with Amelia and Luke who were in my group. We had to match handwriting, Identify powder and fiber and also match fingerprints! I enjoyed trying to mach the fibers because I got lots of help from my group! I found it tricky to match the handwriting because some were almost the same. Next time I would try to take a photo of everything we used so you guys could see it on my blog. But here is the slides!

My Lenten Promise!

Last Wednesday it was Ash Wednesday. We had to give up something and pray more and do something for others. Then we had to colour it in so it did not look boring. Lastly we cut it out and glued it in our R.E book. I gave up watching my favourite TV show for 40 days. Did you know, lent lasts 40 days? I learnt that lent is a time to remember how to be nice to people. I enjoyed colouring in the one that says 'My Lenten Promise' because it did not matter how much colour you put! I found it tricky to cut it out because I am terrible at cutting. Next time I would I would try to stop eating chocolate.
Here it is!

Is Handwriting different to your friends?

This week are are learning to make connections between our reading. We did a handwriting experiment where we wrote a sentence then tried to find a different. My friend Leyla chose to do it with me. Did you know that every person's handwriting is different? I learnt that there LOADS of differences! I enjoyed writing the sentence because it was easy to write and say. I found it tricky to find differences because they looked a little the same and a had tiny differences. Next time I would try to write a different sentence with more words in it.

Art/ Taking photos

Today yesterday we took photos of our beautiful native plants. We wanted to see if we could get very nice ones of them with light shining through or close ups on the flowers. I took 9 photos in total but I had to use 3 of my best ones to put them into a competition! The names of the best plant photos were a Flax tree, a Lancewood tree and a Lemonwood tree. Did you know lancewood looks like a leafless christmas tree? I learnt that the lemonwood trees leaves have 5 parts. I enjoyed taking photos because I didn't notice that there were so many! I found it tricky to know which ones were native because I found out that aloe vera was not actually native. So I made sure I asked before I took a photo. Next time I would change it so I did it with different ones.
Here are my three photos:

Roz the Robot

At school, we have been reading a book called The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. It is about how a shipwreck sends a stray robot in a box into the sea. It found land and the robot had to survive in the wild. We had to do a task about the book and I chose the minecraft one. It said to create Roz the Robot. I enjoyed making him covered in vines because I had to cover every part in vines. I found it tricky to make the face because I did not know how to make the glowstone dimmer. So I had to leave it alone. Next time I would change it so that there was more robot parts in the background

Kawa Of Care 2021

On Friday, we learnt about how some things can't be shared on the internet and how that you should keep your last name secret.  We got to use any google tool, so, I used google Jamboard because I have not used it that much. I enjoyed adding the sticky notes because I had so many ideas that I could put in them. I found it tricky to make the background different because I could not find where it said background. So I looked more and clicked some things and I found it! Next time I would change it so the background was a darker colour so the sticky notes stood out more.
Here is my Kawa of Care:
