Te Kuri A Paoa

This week for art we have been learning how to experiment with colour and blend. We only had one shade of green which was dark green but we also needed a light green so I chose to do blue and yellow and it made a perfect colour. Also, my white did not look bright on the black paper so I did white and pink for the stripes on Young Nicks Head in the background. For the background I used blue and purple to make it look like a beautiful night sky complete with maori patterns and stars. For the yellow on the dog I used orange, yellow and white. For the brown on the dog I used brown, orange and white. I enjoyed drawing the dog because it was nice and easy but I did some tiny mistakes. I found it tricky to colour in the night sky because it was so big and I had to do it twice in the two different colours. Next time I would change the size of the mouth because I made it very small so it looked a bit weird.

  1. Kia ora Kylah,
This is a great way to show how you created your art. I can see your white outline and the way you have blended colours. Blending colours when using pastels is really tricky and can get really messy. I think you have made a good job of using pastels. Ka pai tō mahi!
