Black Caiman report.

1 week ago I started writing a report about a Black Caiman.
I enjoyed finding facts on the internet.
I found it tricky to find a picture that was labeled for reuse.

Black Caiman.
A Black Caiman is a reptile that looks like a crocodile.
Its protective armored skin, as its name says,it is very dark. Its skin color helps to camouflage it during its nocturnal hunts, and may also help to soak up heat.
Babies mostly eat small fish, frogs, and animals with no backbone such as crustaceans and insects, but with time and size they are able to eat larger fish, including piranhas, catfish, and perch, which remain a particular  food source for all black caimans.
They live in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru and Venezuela. The Black Caiman is found in many freshwater habitats such as slow running rivers, streams, lakes, flooded savannas and wetlands.
A Black Caiman can have up to 72–76 teeth!
I think it would be scary to see one.

  1. Malo e lei lei Kylah,
I would NOT want to be swimming in a river where these reptiles live. What is the difference between a black caiman and a crocodile? - you wrote that it looks like a crocodile. Do you know if the black caiman has any predators?
