May Reflection

Today I did a May reflection. I had to write in everything in the boxes then take a photo of me.
I enjoyed taking the selfie.
I found it easy to write in the trivia.
I found it tricky to make the answers go upside down.
Next time I will change the maths questions.

Dolphin Slides

For a couple of weeks I was learning how to use what we read. I had to colour in my t shirt which took 2 days! Today I finally put it on my blog.
I enjoyed doing the ones where I had to drag the answers.
I found it easy to draw the t shirt.
I found it tricky to do the main and supporting ideas.

Today I was learning how to describe and use a hook. I had no idea how to spell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious because it was not in a dictionary.
I enjoyed learning some of my speed.
I found it easy to write a hook.
I found it tricky to use similes.
Next time I would use more verbs.

Dancing Through the Evening
Glowing lights blurred my view as the song Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious started playing. As quick as a jet Nikki ( my tap dance teacher ) gave me a what to do list for every single tiny week! Check the list to see it says new speed under week 3 which was next week! I was so excited that I screamed as loud as a screeching budgie. Group friends covered their ears. She finally got me to stop as we learnt the first move. I was sweating as much as a dog drools. Yelling over the music I yelled “WOW this is FAST!” Accidentally I left my tap shoes on a bench. While Nikki was trying to get me back I was already zooming through the rocks near the car. Mum started the car and we drove off to pick up my sister at Dancefit.

Hail Mary Sign Language

This month is the month of Mary so we were doing the Hail Mary in sign language. We use the hail mary anywhere we can but especially in prayers.

I enjoyed doing my screencastify of hail mary.

I found it easy to watch the video to know what to do.

I found it tricky to post it to my blog.

Next time I will change the bit where it says "Sinners".

Paper airplane

Today I was learning to combine sources of information with developing confidence to identify, form, and express ideas. I made a paper airplane to go with the book called The boy at the back of the class.
I enjoyed writing a little letter in it.
I found it easy to make the paper airplane.
I found it tricky to make it work.

Jesus' Ascension

Today I was learning about Jesus' Ascension. Jesus told his disciples that he will be with them until the end of time and he was going to make space for them when they can see him again. Then he was risen up to heaven and a cloud hid him from view.
I enjoyed making the black figures.
I found it easy to make a background.
I found it tricky to make a cloud.

Henri Matisse Artwork

Last week we were learning about Henri Matisse. He was a French artist who painted still art. We had to use primary plus white or black to make the colours we wanted. We had to blend in white to show light direction. Then we used black pastel to add details.
I enjoyed drawing the guitar.
I found it easy to paint inside the lines.
I found it tricky to glue the page to the white and black pieces of paper.
Next time I would change the background colour the a brown colour to look like wood.

Beach On A Summer Afternoon

Today I was learning how to describe and hook our readers in.
I found it easy to make a new folder in my drive.
I found it tricky to make alliteration like the ones at the start starting with 'W'.
Next time I will change my hook to something even better.

Brain Break Taskmaster

Today I did a brain break taskmaster. I did some weird noises near the end! I got a bit crazy and could not keep count of the turns I had. I was 6 steps away from the cornhole board. Cornhole is a game where you have to throw little bags full of little beans into a wooden platforms with holes in it. You usually have 4 turns each throw. If you get one on the board that counts as 1 point. If you get it in the hole it is 3 points.
I found it easy to throw the cornhole bag.
I found it tricky to get them in the hole.

Maths Buddy

Today I did a screencastify on maths buddy. I did the year 5 picture graphs and year 6 Division with Remainders.
I made a couple of mistakes like forgetting to click on the fruit on the year 5 one.
I found it easy to say how I was thinking in my maths buddy activities.
I found it tricky to make it load quicker then it was at the end.

Who's That Star Wars Character

Today I did a Star Wars maths thing on google sheets. It took awhile for me to finish it and figure out what it was. It is a Ewok. I will put a screenshot of what an Ewok is.
I found it easy to do the maths equations.
I found it tricky to figure out the person it was because I had to ask my Dad.

Yucky Bugs

Today I was learning about yucky bugs. I chose to make a butterfly because I found a butterfly but it died today. I made the wings out of orange card and a black felt. I made the body out of bobby pins and hair ties. I stuck the body to the wings with sticky tape.
I found it easy to make the wings black.
I found it tricky to use the string to make it look like it is floating.

The coolest bug is the New Zealand leaf vein slug. When you are asleep they poop on and clean your seat. Centipedes are useful predators. They live on the soil and leaf litter and especially in compost bins. Ants eat the bird poop on your deck.

Grandma's Teeth

Today I was learning how to write a mystery story. We got to choose from 3 scenarios or make up our own. I chose to make up my own. I did it about a grandma losing her teeth and the suspects all had something in common with another one. I made the teacher love coffee based on my actual teacher.
I found it easy to make some funny bits like when grandma falls asleep.
I found it tricky to think of some suspects like the superheros.

On a cold icy day you get a text from Grandma saying “Someone stole my teeth! Please come over and investigate!” You put on your coat and drive to her place. 

When you get there you see spiderwebs everywhere, a hole in the wall the size of a huge fist and you almost slipped on the coffee. 

Your suspects are Spiderman, Wreck it Ralph, Hulk or Mrs Naden (Your teacher who loves coffee). 

You ask your grandma how many people there were. She said two but she could not see their faces. Then you ask how the spiderwebs got there. Grandma says she never cleans her roof so they were almost everywhere. “ So that crosses off Spiderman “ You whisper while crossing his name off some paper. Next you ask “Do you know what colour they were?”. She says one looks a bit sick and green and the other looked normal. “Ok so definitely Hulk.” You say while circling his name and putting a green tick near it. “Ok Grandma, last question, do you know the haircolor of the normal looking one?”. It takes a while because in the middle of you asking that question she falls asleep. She finally says “Oh, yes! I remember now! The normal looking one had blonde hair!”.

You are very excited and thank grandma for her time. You know who stole her teeth now! It was Hulk and Mrs Naden! 

You drive to Avengers Tower HQ first. You sneak to Hulks room. No sign of them. 

Next you go to Mrs Nadens house. You see her drinking coffee ( like usual ) and see next to her Grandma's teeth! You ask why she has them. “I don’t know. Here you can have it.” Wow that was easy. You run back to Grandma's house forgetting about your car and give her the teeth. 

Then you get a big shock. You lost your car!

Flappy Bird Coding

Today I was learning how to code flappy bird. I made the background snow and the player Santa so it looks like a christmas scene. I dragged special buttons together like a puzzle and it codes it to do what it says.
I found it easy to make it make sounds.
I found it tricky to make it end the game when you hit the ground or obstacles.

Binary Code

Today I was learning about binary code. Binary code is made out of 0s and 1s and is how computers talk to each other. The binary code for 45 is 101101 because the ones that are up are the ones. The two blacks before it does not count in the binary.

Hurt Butterfly

Yesterday I found an injured boy butterfly. I kept it in a safe place all night so nothing would happen to it. It was still there when I looked this morning. The butterfly I found had 4 legs and a broken wing. My Dad took some photos of it so I can put it on my blog. So far I have been calling it Dudey. Females tend to have rounder abdomens. Males have a slit at the tip, and females have a round holes where the eggs are laid.

Famous Painting Laundry Art

Today I made a famous painting out of laundry. It took a while to put everything back! I did The girl with the pearl earring by Johannes Vermeer in the year 1665.
I found it easy to collect all my stockings.
I found it tricky to get all my socks.

For the background I did my dads jacket and my black pants. for the face, top and hair I did most of my dance stockings. for the eyes and shirt collar I did socks. For the lips I did a pink little strip of one of my bras. The scarf on her head was a blue dress. The pearl earring was a blue bead.

Today I was learning how to code sprites on scratch.
I found it easy to make a super bunny costume onto the bunny.
