Kennings are often used in poetry for effect. Two words are put together to make one. one example of kennings that we use all the time is Ankle-biter which is used for describing a toddler.
I found this activity really easy, fun and I really enjoyed describing my favourite place. I did not find anything challenging about this activity.
Next time I would add even more descriptive words. I would use words that I don't use very often.
Thank you for reading my blog, Here are my kennings:
Kia Ora Kylah,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the summer learning journey.
You did an amazing job with your kennings and I am going to guess that your favourite place to go is the beach, that is one of my favourite summer spots as well.
Using this activity as an opportunity to use new words is a great way to extend your vocabulary so I definitely encourage you to give that a go!
Keep up the good work and I hope to see more of your posts during the Summer Learning Journey!!

Kia ora Kylah. My name is Phil and I helped Dave design the tasks for the poetry slam. I really enjoyed your Kenning. Is it the beach? I love the way you added your voice and chose background to match the theme of your poem. I'm excited to see your future poems too.
