Music Made Of Random Things Summer Learning Journey Tekau Ma Rima

Today for the Summer Learning Journey we made music out of random things. I made my music out of a grater, whisk, pepper shaker and a cup filled with water.

I enjoyed making lots of noise because quite often babies are asleep so we need to stay a bit quiet. So I made sure I asked before making so much noise! This activity was really fun, easy and I could not find anything hard.

Next time I would try and make it longer than 11 seconds long because most songs are about 3 minutes long. To make it more like a real song I'll need to make it longer.

Thank you for reading my blog. Here are my slides:

  1. Kia ora Kylah,
I am working as a Manaiakalani Outreach facilitator in schools. I can see this would be fun to make so much noise. Well done on showing what you used and having an audio recording. I think you could add some more items that have a different sound. See what Amelia has done here.

  2. Mōrena Kylah,

It’s Charlotte again, a blog commenter for Manaiakalani. Awesome work on the Found Sounds activity!

I found this task quite difficult! I think this was because I am not used to making music out of household items. How did you find this task? What household item did you find made the best noise?

I noticed that you said you would like to create a longer song! What is your favourite song? Why don’t you have a go creating that?

If you wanted to try and challenge yourself a little more you could try and give the ‘Found Sounds, Step it up’ activity a go!
