Today for my summer learning journey I had to make a boat out of paper then see if it floats. It actually worked! I took a video of me making it so I can show you. I took a photo of the boat in the filled up sink too.
I liked seeing if it floats because it was the easiest bit.
It was hard to make the paper boat because in the video at the end it went a bit weird and I had to fix it.
Next time I would change the boat to coloured paper so you can see it better in the sink.
Sorry the video said it was too long. Sorry! Here is a link of someone doing it properly.
Here is my photo:
Kia Ora Kylah,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.
I thought this activity was really fun as I used to make paper boats with my little brother and send them down the river by my old house, good memories.
I think your boat look awesome and you did a great job stepping it up and writing a great description for the activity and explaining what went well, what didn't and what you would change next time.
Have you had a look at the step up activity? I think you would enjoy that and it would give you the opportunity to use coloured paper.
Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

Kia Ora Zana!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds super fun and maybe a good idea to do with my 4 siblings as we have a river just down the road with a foot bridge. Did you make the same paper boats as this activity to race? or a different one?
I will definitely give the step it up a go over the next few days!
Mā te Wā,
Kylah
